After months of renovation work, the official re-opening of the King’s Head as a community owned pub was cause for a huge celebration in May, 2018. A renovated pub sign, produced by local artist Steven Binks was unveiled, and we cut the longest of yellow ribbons.  (Photo credit Roger Cuthbert)

Purchase Day – June 2017

The purchase of the empty King’s Head building and site was achieved thanks to the enormous support of the local community and with invaluable advice from The Plunkett Foundation, a charity that advises community groups on enterprises like pubs and village shops. We are also grateful to “Pub is the Hub” for their advice and support.  The funds raised by the 400+ Members who purchased shares, combined with a central government grant, enabled us to complete the purchase of the King’s Head on 29 June 2017.
